Bishop Elias Zaydan Presides Over a Celebratory Mass at Our Lady of Lebanon Church – Chicago
The Maronite Church of Our Lady of Lebanon in Chicago hosted His Excellency Bishop Elias Zaydan, the shepherd of the Diocese of Los Angelos, for a special pastoral visit.
He presided over the Divine Liturgy, assisted by the parish priest Father Pierre Khoury, with a large congregation of Lebanese community members in attendance. A delegation from the Lebanese Forces Center in Chicago also participated in the Mass, led by the Coordinator of the Central-North Sector, Elie Sleiman, and the Center’s President, William Harb.
In his sermon, Bishop Zaydan emphasized the importance of involving the youth in pastoral work, affirming that their moral and material support is an investment in the future of the Church and the continuity of its mission. He also called for attention to be given to seminarians and retired priests, noting that their long service deserves all appreciation and support.
This visit is part of His Excellency’s ongoing efforts to strengthen spiritual and social ties between the faithful of the Diocese in the diaspora, affirming their faith and Maronite heritage.

استضافت كنيسة سيدة لبنان المارونية في شيكاغو سيادة المطران إلياس زيدان، راعي الأبرشية في لوس أنجلوس، في زيارة رعوية مميزة.
وقد ترأس سيادته الذبيحة الإلهية، يعاونه كاهن الرعية الأب بيار خوري، بحضور حشد كبير من أبناء الجالية اللبنانية.
كما شارك في القداس وفد من مركز القوات اللبنانية في شيكاغو، يتقدّمه منسق قطاع الشمال الأوسط إيلي سليمان ورئيس المركز وليام حرب.
في عظته، شدّد المطران زيدان على أهمية إشراك العنصر الشبابي في العمل الرعوي، مؤكدًا أن دعمهم المعنوي والمادي يُعدّ استثمارًا في مستقبل الكنيسة واستمرارية رسالتها. كما دعا إلى ضرورة الالتفات إلى طلاب الكهنوت والكهنة المتقاعدين، مشيرًا إلى أن خدمتهم الطويلة تستحق كل تقدير ومساندة.
تأتي هذه الزيارة في إطار الجهود المستمرة التي يبذلها سيادته لتعزيز الروابط الروحية والاجتماعية بين أبناء الأبرشية في الانتشار، وتثبيتهم في إيمانهم وتراثهم الماروني.

L’Église maronite Notre-Dame du Liban à Chicago a accueilli Son Excellence l’évêque Elias Zaydan, le pasteur du diocèse de Los Angelos, lors d’une visite pastorale spéciale.
Il a présidé la liturgie divine, assisté par le prêtre de la paroisse, le père Pierre Khoury, en présence d’une grande foule de membres de la communauté libanaise. Une délégation du Centre des Forces Libanaises de Chicago a également participé à la messe, dirigée par le coordonnateur du secteur Nord-Central, Elie Sleiman, et le président du Centre, William Harb.
Dans son homélie, l’évêque Zaydan a souligné l’importance d’impliquer les jeunes dans le travail pastoral, affirmant que leur soutien moral et matériel constitue un investissement pour l’avenir de l’Église et la continuité de sa mission. Il a également appelé à porter une attention particulière aux séminaristes et aux prêtres retraités, soulignant que leur long service mérite toute reconnaissance et soutien.
Cette visite fait partie des efforts continus de Son Excellence pour renforcer les liens spirituels et sociaux entre les fidèles du diocèse de la diaspora, et affirmer leur foi et leur patrimoine maronite.
