Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed that his government has started working on a range of political, economic, and social issues, emphasizing that “the state’s train must start on more than one level or path, from the far north to the far south, and in Beirut, the capital.” This came during a series of meetings held at the Grand Serail.
Salam pointed out the focus on addressing all crises in Beirut, which represents the capital, a hub, and a city that unites all Lebanese people from different backgrounds. This will be done by intensifying efforts to enhance security, public peace, and coordination with all relevant associations in the city to improve security, developmental, social, and healthcare conditions. In terms of security, the government is working on launching a security plan and one related to traffic and road safety in the capital. As for healthcare, a program is being developed to provide the necessary assistance to all associations involved in civil and social work, to improve the health and social conditions of the city’s residents.
Additionally, efforts are underway to revive Beirut’s cultural life and restore it as a beacon on the Mediterranean. Places for cultural activities are being provided, with a focus on theaters and the flourishing of the arts. He stated: “In the coming weeks, you will see the progress made in the cultural life of Lebanon in general, and Beirut in particular.”
Salam also addressed the expatriates, conveying that Lebanon needs them, as they represent cultural diversity, knowledge, and economic and financial capabilities. They are the ones who can strengthen ties and boost large investment capacities. He emphasized that it is our responsibility to assist them by improving investment opportunities through better administrative and legal procedures and by completing economic and financial reforms. This should be part of a comprehensive plan covering various sectors such as agriculture, industry, and services. Most importantly, the participation of expatriates in political and electoral events is essential, as it is their fundamental link in contributing to change and shaping the future.

Le Premier ministre Nawaf Salam a confirmé que son gouvernement a commencé à travailler sur plusieurs dossiers politiques, économiques et sociaux, soulignant que « le train de l’État doit démarrer à plusieurs niveaux ou chemins, du nord au sud, et à Beyrouth, la capitale. » Cela a été exprimé lors d’une série de réunions organisées au Grand Sérail.
